About

These blogs are written with the idea of connecting women as we wear our many hats of wife, mother, daughter, sister, employer, employee, and servant of God. In these blogs that I post, you will find some of my thoughts as I study the Bible and chew on what I read. I make NO claim to having the “answers” to all questions. These are just my meandering, questioning thoughts as I grapple with my own life and try to encourage any who care to read these entries. Please feel free to contact me, ask questions, or give feedback. I look forward to hearing from you! If you would like to know a little bit more about me, please continue reading. Here I have put my current profile that is sent out to churches where I teach….

Tami was born in Indiana, but she has lived primarily in upstate New York. She was raised in a Christian family and trusted Jesus Christ as her Savior and Lord at the age of four. At present her primary responsibilities revolve around ministering to her husband Tim and their three children. As a committed believer, she seeks to glorify God and serve him in her home, at the church where her husband pastors, and through the ministry opportunities which God provides.

In 1990 she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Houghton College in Secondary Education with a major in English. Then in 2009 she received her Master of Arts degree in Theological Studies from Northeastern Seminary.

Throughout her adult life, God has opened many doors for Tami in a variety of teaching/ministry opportunities and with a wide range of age groups. Currently Tami is certified in four children’s seminars: Walk Thru the Bible - Old and New Testament, UnveilinGlory, and SuperDoc, and she enjoys traveling and teaching those as God provides opportunities. Tami is also currently the coordinator of her church’s children’s AWANA program.

Previously Tami was the director and head teacher at West Oneonta Baptist’s preschool. She also worked with the Migrant Education Outreach Program where she tutored preschool through adolescent students. In the past, Tami served full-time with the ministry of Youth for Christ. She also developed a Chastity curriculum that she and others presented in local public and private schools. This curriculum was for the Community Pregnancy Center (which later became the local Abstinence Education Council of which she became the director). In addition, she taught junior and senior high school English in the public school system.

God has also opened doors for ministry to women. During her husband’s seminary studies she coordinated and taught a Bible study program for the seminary wives. She has had the opportunity to teach for women’s events at her church, and she has also spoken at various women’s events and conferences.

She and her husband Tim co-authored the soon-to-be-released Handing it Down. This family devotional helps parents teach what they believe, not just how to live the Christian life. Filled with fun activities, scripture, and teaching, Handing it Down is an invaluable tool for teaching the next generation.

Obviously, because I love reading from and teaching about God’s word, I welcome the opportunities that God brings to minister both to women and children.
